Frequently Asked Questions
How do you use AI (artificial intelligence) in your practice?
I don’t. There are a lot of different services out there that aim to make treatment planning and progress notes easier for clinicians. Some of these services include recording sessions and developing a progress note based off of the recording or typing details directly into ChatGPT to generate a progress note. AI does not possess my clinical judgement and the security of your information is my highest priority, so I write my own notes. No audio recordings. No ChatGPT. Who’s Claude? We don’t know her.
Do you take insurance?
I do not accept insurance, but I can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance company for out of network benefits. Please keep in mind that most insurance companies require a diagnosis to determine medical necessity.
Each company handles out of network claims differently. For the most accurate information, call the number on the back of your insurance card and ask about your out of network mental health benefits.
I am also a clinician with Open Path Collective, which allows me to offer reduced rates to qualifying clients. If you believe you may be eligible, I encourage you to apply.
I am ready to get started. What does that process look like?
Reach out to me using the contact form and I will send you intake paperwork through an encrypted, HIPAA-compliant portal. Upon completion of this paperwork, we can schedule your first session
Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and for you to settle into the space. I will invite you to share what brings you in, what you are hoping for, and anything that feels important for me to understand. You do not have to come prepared with a perfect story or a clear plan. We will move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
We will talk through any practical details you need to know, like confidentiality, scheduling, and my approach to therapy. You will have time to ask questions and get a sense of how it feels to work with me. My goal is for you to feel grounded, welcomed, and supported from the very beginning.
I want to try EMDR therapy, but I can only meet you virtually. Is EMDR possible through telehealth?
Yes! I use telehealth-friendly tools for EMDR, primarily through the use of sight or sound. In order to make the best use of EMDR via telehealth, it is best to use a desktop or laptop instead of a phone.
